Candle Care & Safety
At CandleMania, we want you to enjoy your candles safely and get the most out of every burn. Please read and follow these guidelines for proper candle care and safe usage.
Container Candle Care Tips
1. Trim the Wick: Always trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to prevent soot, flaring and ensure a clean, even burn. If wick is trimmed too short, the flame will be too small and will not stay lit.
2. Burn Until the Wax Pool Reaches the Edge: Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax melts. This helps prevent tunneling and ensures you get the most out of your candle.
3. Burn in 3-4 Hour Increments: Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and ensure safety.
4. Keep the Wax Free of Debris: Check the wax regularly and remove any wick trimmings, matches, or other debris to maintain a clean burn.
5. Store Properly: Keep your candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to prevent discoloration or melting.
Safe Candle Burning Instructions
1. Place on a Stable, Heat-Resistant Surface: Always burn your candle on a sturdy, flat, heat-safe surface away from drafts or flammable materials.
2. Never Leave a Burning Candle Unattended: Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. Only burn candles within sight.
3. Keep Away from Children and Pets: Ensure candles are placed out of reach from children and pets to prevent accidents.
4. Extinguish Safely: Use a snuffer or gently blow out the candle to avoid splashing hot wax. Never use water to extinguish a candle.
5. Allow the Candle to Cool Before Handling: The container may become hot during use, so wait until the wax and container cool down completely before moving or relighting.
